Astrophysics for People in a Hurry by Neil deGrasse Tyson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Make no mistake about it. The “for people in a hurry” part of the title does NOT mean that this is for laypeople with little/no knowledge of space, chemistry or physics.
If you pick this up hoping it’s an introduction into the topic for newcomers you will be heavily disappointed.
No doubt the book is very informational, but this isn’t for who I thought it was. Perhaps this is just a mistake in my judgement and understanding of the title. My three star review is solely based on this reason.
The content itself is interesting and puts into perspective life and the universe as we know it. The last chapter really drives this home as it highlights the importance of looking upwards so that we understand how relatively simple our personal, everyday problems really are.
