Either way, here’s a few words about me.
My name is Tariq, I work with technology and to put it simply, I enjoy experiencing the beauty the world has to offer via art, travel, intriguing ideas and interesting people. I also try to contribute to this same beauty by producing my own works (more on that in a moment).
I picked up the age-old hobby of reading again a few years back after the typical teenage-to-early-twenties hiatus so many of us go through. I mainly enjoy reading non-fiction books, from history, biographies and social commentary to psychology, philosophy and geopolitics … you name it.
I like to think of myself as curious and thirsty for knowledge. The world is a big place and there is a lot to catch up on.
I also have a strong passion for sharing the thoughts swirling in my head, with topics ranging across a wide spectrum, but mainly introspective ideas concerning finding balance in our fast-paced modern culture and adapting to our ever-increasing dependence on technology. I do hope my actions of producing pieces of writing help actualise my goal of becoming a writer (or even a published Author one day…who knows!?).
As cliched as it is these days, travelling the world and experiencing other cultures is a deep enjoyment of mine. I love to observe and learn from people from different communities and backgrounds, as well as visit historical landmarks I have previously learn about in the books I read. It is one of my great pleasures in life to see something in the flesh after having read about it and studied it beforehand.
Photography is another hobby of mine that helps me to display the beauty of our world as I see it. It has been a labour of love for me over the years, and I am both proud of my work and humbly accepting of the fact that honing ones style is something that is never fully completed. I will forever be a work in progress in this regard.
